What is so fascinating about traveling? I believe that it is in mans nature to be free. What better way to be truly free than to work from your laptop on the road?
You could go anywhere at anytime, and you could be with anyone in only a short time. You choose your destiny on the road. These are the reasons I was attracted to caravanning.
When I first began caravanning in the US, I was determined to check out one of the seven natural wonders of the world, The Grand Canyon
had suggested to me a great price for a caravan in The States.
I started my drive from beautiful, sunny California
. Here I got to see some of the best beaches and prettiest women in the World. It was hard to say goodbye so soon.
I started my nine hour drive and the scenery quickly transformed from beach town to small desert towns and long stretches of highway.
By the time I arrived at the grand canyon it was dark outside. It felt great to jump out and stretch my legs . Then my head slowly, and naturally tilted upwards in amazement.
The stars were so amazingly bright without any city light pollution in the area.
The next day my friends and I began a long hike down to the base of the grand canyon. I can remember being so exhausted and sleeping like a baby down at the base of the hike. When your body is starving for calories food never tastes so good.
A connection with nature occurs in settings like these that I had never experienced. I don’t think many get to experience it unless you grow up in rural settings. It’s as if something in your body recognizes that this is its natural setting.
You wake to the sun. You eat simply. You sleep deeply.
I found myself in a nearly meditative state the entire time. All worries about future projects or past mistakes fell away. I could simply enjoy where I was.
On the treacherous hike out of the canyon I reflected on my time there. As the sun set on our hike out I remembered why I love traveling. I love traveling for the freedom.
I encourage anyone on the fence to just go. If you fail, who cares? Better to try and fail than to not try at all.
