Canada is a beautiful place to visit, it has a variety of rich cultures, an interesting history and maple syrup too! The nation to the north of the United States has been receiving a large amount of attention over the past few months for a variety of reasons.
It is a trading partner of the United States, it has a more open immigration policy, and seems to have more progressive views on substances such as marijuana.
Canada would be a great place to visit if you are into education, film, and nature. Learn some French before you go and speak like a local in some Canadian regions.
What I like about Canada is that, if one is located in the United States, and have some free time in their schedule, one can drive there and make an experience out of it.
I’m very much into nature so I’m going to be talking about the natural settings that Canada has to offer.
Let’s get into a couple of these popular natural Canadian attractions.
But before that, depending on where you are coming from you need to make sure that you have the correct paperwork to travel throughout the land. Are you planning on going to Canada? Don’t forget your ETA.
For Those of Us Who Are Nature Oriented
Canada has space, a lot of natural space, but the problem (or lack of it, depending on your perspective) is that most of the land is uninhabitable. In fact, most people in Canada relatively close to the US border.
This proximity to the US is a blessing. Interested residents of the United States can head on over to Canada and enjoy the many natural settings that it has to offer.
Banff National Park
The first natural setting that I would recommend would be the Banff National Park. Found in Alberta Canada, Banff is the oldest national park in Canada, it was founded in 1885! Most individuals that go to the local area love the scenery, the town and the general politeness of the people.
Banff park offers individuals 6,641 kilometers of beautiful natural sightings. These sightings include lakes, mountains, glaciers, icefields, coniferous trees and much more. Wildlife includes bears, wolverines, elk and more.
You will want to check out Moraine Lake and Lake Louise as well while you are over here.
Individuals will find a variety of activities present there as well, from opportunities to go skiing, to participating in the nightlife of the local town if they want something more stimulating than calming nature.
If you are only able to go during the winter, that’s fine too. You can participate in the Banff Winter Season and participate in the Ice Magic Festival, Banff craft beer festival and other snow-related activities and events.
Jasper National Park
The next destination on my list is the Jasper National Park. This park provides a variety of experiences to nature lovers as well. Jasper National Park is located in the Canadian Rockies and one can find glaciers, lakes, and peaks in this area. Beautiful and magical scenery allows for great hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
Go to Jasper National Park if you want to create bonds and experiences with a select group of people that you’ll want to spend time with for years to come.
I would advise you to go here during the summer to really be able to experience the park in all of its glory.
Check out Athabasca Falls while you are there! Oh, best of all, Jasper National Park is also located in the great province of Alberta as well.
Stanley Park
Stanley Park has a lot to offer to interested parties. Individuals will find that they can experience beaches, trails, and many other family-friendly activities. People can go hang out at places such as the Vancouver Aquarium, Seawall, and more. A few of trails also are found right beside the ocean so you can ride or walk alongside amazing views.
Oh, check out Lions Gate Bridge while you are there.
Yoho National Park
Another park on my list to go check out and visit is the Yoho National Park, it has a variety offerings such as waterfalls (Wapta Falls, Kicking Horse River, and Takakkaw Falls), find lakes, a stone bridge, cliffs, and trails here too.
Check this place out with your significant other or your family as well. It can be a great bonding time either way.
I would recommend that you go kayaking, go see some mountain goats in their natural domain and experience the calm of nature.
Oh, best of all, this place is not as crowded as Banff, so if you want peace and minimal interaction with crowds of people, this is the place to go.
Butchart Gardens
If you are planning on going to Canada and are interested in experiencing all that nature has to offer, please go to Butchart Gardens. This place receives a steady flow of traffic throughout the year due to its beauty and natural splendor. You may feel like you just took a trip to into Narnia.
The cost to visit this place is not too expensive, it can be within the range of $20 to $30 dollars.
These gardens are located in British Columbia.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
The place might be a bit expensive for some but it is worth it to go at least once. What is it? Just a suspension bridge. But it is great because of the views that it offers, the sights are definitely killer.
Wrap Up
I could look at Canada and its natural settings all day but there’s just not enough time to write about all of it. This piece is just the start of what Canada has to offer nature lovers, go explore and let me know what you think!
