Sir Thomas Beecham! What a guy.
If you visit Abbey Road
you can make a short detour to find the former home of Sir Thomas Beecham, C.H.
Who is he? I had no idea before seeing this plaque. Beecham was born near Liverpool in 1879, as the son of the creator of Beecham pills. He rose to fame as a music conductor of the New Symphony Orchestra and Beecham Symphony Orchestra. He was also Knighted. And he wrote his own autobiography, A Mingled Chime. The only reason I stopped to look at this plaque was because I thought the city was strange enough to honor a Train Conductor. Sorry for wasting your time reading this ha!
