Travel Underwear? Yes. Even travel briefs exist today. What makes travel undies different from a normal pair is that they are adaptable to even the most adventurous traveler. I am specifically talking about the following attributes:
- Quick-drying
- Treated to control odor-causing bacteria
- Stain resistant
- Lightweight
- Sweat-defying
- Bacteria resistant
These claims are all nice but are they really true?
I recently tested ExOfficio’s Men’s Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs
for five days straight. ExOfficio says you can actually wear them without issue for over one month. I did not feel the need to verify that claim because I do have regular access to a washer, dryer, and a dozen more pairs of underwear in my bedroom closet. I look at it like the poop burger phenomenon. While now proved to be a hoax, there was a story that poop could be turned into edible burgers packed full of protein and solve the world’s hunger problem. If this were true I would still prefer to starve. The same goes for this underwear. While I can realistically wear the same pair for over one month without it smelling or passing along any diseases I would not want to do that.
They did not smell. Besides no odor the pair of underwear was more comfortable than just about any other I have worn. The exception would be UnderArmor’s undies which are at about the same comfort level as ExOfficio’s. What I mean is that as a traveler in my own city I was able to comfortably walk for eight hours without sweating down there. I did not need to pick any wedgies either! In the past while traveling in Bangkok I clearly remember returning to my hostel early each day because walking in any other underwear was painful. When I compare what I wear now to what I wore then ExOfficio is light years ahead.
In just one week of testing this has easily become my go to pair of underwear. So much that I actually do my laundry more often than before, just so that I can wear the ExOfficio quickdry underwear more often.
Disclosure: ExOfficio
provided me with this pair of underwear. Will they provide me with socks now too? I hope so!

Thanks for an awesome review of our underwear.nnWhile we put enough technical features in our underwear to go without washing if you’re in that kind of adventure situation, we do expect you to wash it while spending those 6 weeks traveling. Hence the quick drying feature. :Dnn– Erica at ExOfficio

Erica,nnI just took my clothes out of the dryer and already feel more happy. Its always good to know that the quick dry feature works well, only 6 weeks!

You can travel as long as you want. 6 weeks is just a tagline 😀

They sure do. Check out http://www.exofficio.com/products/womens/underwear/bottoms. I just hope nobody looks through my browsing history to see that I was looking for women’s underwear.
