Many of us love to travel, love to work hard, and love to play hard or even harder. And let’s be honest, we do all these things but there comes a time when you open the door to your own place and look around and go “what the…. What kind of a person lives in an actually nasty place like this”? And then, you can pretty much go and look in a mirror because you know what the answer is already!
But don’t think about packing everything up and moving just yet. As a matter of fact, the location may be great, and the problem may not even be the actual physical plant where you are. A lot of times, the actual space you live in can look like a million bucks, if and when you get the right furniture in there.
Let’s start with the living room. Get a nice couch, one that’s comfortable. Avoid black and white or overy loud colors as they can be the hardest to clean. Pick something in a nice earth tone and make it nice and comfortable. Avoid designs you can’t just flop out on or you’ll regret it later.
You probably already have a decent TV. But you may need to improve its surroundings. Be fashionable for once in your life and get a hold of a lowline tv entertainment unit like one of these shown here.
It’s surprising how something often overlooked like that makes a difference between a living room that looks like a dump and one that looks like an actual nice space.
The kitchen is actually the easiest place to upgrade, assuming that you already have good appliances. There are tons of places that have good kitchen tables and utensils for cheap. Make a list of dishes you plan to cook regularly, and make sure you have all the right equipment on hand to make them. This includes spices. And spice racks.
Don’t forget the hallway. Hallways can be classed up easily with the right rugs, and don’t forget about looking into getting your hands on one of these hallway console tables.
These not only vastly improve the appearance of the space, they provide probably direly needed storage.
You can find that with a little effort and not that much money, you can reclaim that space you’re probably paying rent or mortgage on, and make it something nice to come home to again, or for once in your life!
